Iceland – Pepsideild Vestmannaeyjar v Fylkir 4:00AM Friday

The home team have a modest home record considering their position in the league, they’ve won and drawn 2 and lost 3, they currently sit 3rd from bottom in 10th place. They have scored 7 and conceded 9 goals averaging 2.29 total goals per game. Fylkir, who are one place below the hosts have a slightly worse record having won 1, drawn 2 and lost 4. Their 7 games have seen 15 goals being scored at an average of 2.14 per game. They both lack any consistency with their form having won, drawn and lost in their last 3 games. Although neither team concede many goals, both 9 apiece, they both find it difficult to keep clean sheets; the home team have kept 2 clean sheets whilst their opponents have not kept a clean sheet so far this season. They’re also goal shy; the home team have scored a total of 7 goals with 4 of these coming in their opening day fixture whilst Fylkir have only managed to score in 3 games with total of 6 goals scored, 4 of these came 2 games ago against bottom of the league who leak a lot of goals. There is a bit of scope with the 2.5 market. The home team have seen this land twice in their 7 games, both of these came within the first 3 games of the season. The away team has only seen Over 2.5 land in 1 of their 7 games, which came in their 4-1 victory against bottom of the league.

Under 2.5 @ 1.91 (Ladbrokes)

Iceland – Pepsideild Valur v Vikingur Reykjavik 6:00AM Friday

A clash between 2 mid-table teams sees Valur host Vikingur. The home team come into this game with a solid home record. They have played 7, won 5 and lost 2. In their 7 games they have scored 14 whilst conceding only 6. Valur have won their last 2 and 4 of their last 5 at home, the loss came against top of the league by a single goal. They’re currently 2nd in the form table at home, with their opponents occupying the top spot. Vikingur’s away form however is a complete contrast to their home form. In their 7 games, they have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 4. Not many goals have been scored in their 7 games, a total of 15 scored, averaging just above 2 goals per game. They have not won in their last 4 away games losing 3 of these. There is some value to be had with backing the home team @ 1.91 with 365, I make them 1.56. Both sides have seen Over 2.5 hit 4 times each in their respective games so far this season. Valur’s last 2 home games have hit Over 2.5, as have Vikingur’s last 2 away. Valur have managed to score in 6 of their 7 games this season and are averaging 2 goals scored per home game keeping 2 clean sheets along the way. The away team have conceded in 5 of their 7 games and have failed to score in 4. Looking at Both Teams To Score stats, a combined total of 8 of the 14 games have seen BTTS N land, which equates to 57%. Considering you can get 2.50 @ Bet Victor for BTTS N, this makes it more appealing. The lack of clean sheets deflects my attention a bit though and although the away team don’t score many, im going with the home team on the Asian Handicap. Valur -0.5 @ 1.95.

Under 2.5 @ 2.20 (Ladbrokes)
Valur -0.5 @ 1.95 (Bet365)

St George-Illawara Dragons v Brisbane Broncos Thursday, August 4, 8pm, Win Stadium

There is no question that Broncos played very average up until the final 15 minutes of the game against Rooster last week. Having said that, Roosters looked fit to be playing finals footy with that performance. This week it is absolutely crucial that Wayne Bennett gets his boys to snag the win, due to their finals hopes being in jeopardy. Dragons should have arguably overcome the Bulldogs last week though that statement more has to do with Bulldogs underperforming, though this clash will take place Win Stadium, the home of the Dragons. The weather reports suggest that they will have torrential rain throughout the day and showers throughout the evening, which will definitely effect the result of the game. As I recall, the last game Dragons played in those conditions, they beat an in form Rabbitohs side 8-6 which gives us an indicator on how this match should turn out. Brisbane welcome back Gillett, Thaiday and Mcguire.

• Dragons have played Brisbane 4 times in these conditions since 2008 and won 3/4
• Under these conditions the under has hit 100% of the time between these two sides
• Brisbane have finals hopes, Dragons don’t

Melbourne Storm vs South Sydney Rabbitohs Saturday, August 6, 7:30pm, AAMI Park

Storm played incredibly well last week besides a few errors though ending Cowboys unbeaten home streak is an incredible feat, regardless of whether they were missing their star player. Rabbitohs will be looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss against Canberra last week although beating an in form Storm side is just way too much to ask. Michael Oldfield will be replaced by Joe Burgess who is known for making costly errors in critical moments of the game. Inglis returns to the side though Luke Keary is off with a hamstring injury. Storm have the number one position within their sights and Rabbitohs have nothing to play for, plus the fact the fact that Rabbitohs have conceded over 100 points in their last 3 games alone tells me that we can expect nothing but a big win from the Storm at home. Rabbitohs were kept scoreless against Cowboys in round 17 and Storms defence is on par with them though the line of 18.5 points is a little too much for me to play the spread.

• Storm have kept 3 teams scoreless this season
• Storm have one of the best defences is the NRL, Souths have the second worst

Safe – Team to win Both Halves – Storm – $1.53 (Bet365)

Gold Coast Titans vs New Zealand Warriors Sunday, August 7, 2pm, Cbus Stadium

After that bold performance against the Sharks on Monday night, Titans should carry that momentum into the next game against the Warriors who had claimed a victory over a depleted Titans side in round 17. New Zealand have a very average record on the road only winning 2/8 games. Warriors have been dominating possession of the ball in the more recent matches though they are still having trouble capitalizing at times. Nathan Peats has been named to return from injury though Tyrone Roberts may be in doubt. With that being said, Ashley Taylor may take the kicking duties and has a substantial amount of time to sharpen up and prepare. Ryan Simpkins is named as 18th man, which played the position of hooker quite well in their last match. Warriors have an unchanged side from last weeks match. Both sides should be playing to the best of their capabilities to solidify their top 8 spot and there are rumors that Jarryd Hayne may be a late inclusion to debut with the Titans.

• Warriors have won the last 5/6 games against Titans
• The last 4/5 Warriors games have come down to golden point with Warriors only winning at home
• Warriors have a horrendous away record

Safe – Titans +9.5 – $1.20 (Bet365)

Wests Tigers vs Nth Queensland Cowboys Sunday, August 7, 4pm, Leichardt Oval North

Queensland were brilliant against Storm despite their 8 point loss at 1300 Smiles last week. To keep a heavy attacking side like Melbourne to 3 tries without their star player Johnathan Thurston shows why the Cowboys defence is considered one of the best in the league. Tigers outclassed an undermanned Parramatta side last week though losing Luke Brooks in the first half. Johnathan Thurston is reported to still be absent for the clash though Ray Thompson has stepped up to the plate on numerous occasions and must be respected in his place. Tigers perform particularly well at Leichardt Oval, coming within 1 point to Melbourne Storm earlier in the season when Tigers were in considerably worse form than they currently are and now with the absence of Halfback Luke Brooks, it nearly compensates for the loss of Thurston. Mitchell Moses has been an incredible form though his kicking abilities are still average as is Ethan Lowes who will take on kicking duties in place of JT. That combined with the fact that both teams have a low scoring record at Leichardt against each other tells us that 42.5 is too high of a total with their main playmakers out and our under will be the best bet

• The last 2 games at Leichardt have not exceeded 20 points
• Cowboys have only won 1/8 times at Leichardt
• Tigers have won 1/2 at Leichardt this season
• Cowboys have only won 1/5 of their last away games

Safe – Alternative total under 54 points – $1.25 (Bet365)

Roosters v Broncos – This week started out in what we thought would turn out to be another bad run. Roosters played with the intensity that we expected from them and Broncos left it a little too late to put up a fight. The bunker has been criticized for their inability to make correct calls and for all good reason. A disallowed try late in the game from the Broncos was questioned by the players, the commentators, the opposition, the punters and many disappointed viewers. This week instead of including the Safe Bets, we decided to place 4 safe legs in a multi in which we fell short on the first leg due to that controversial disallowed try. Roosters have been looking like a dangerous side with Mitchell Pearce leading them though they had been dealt a bad hand with their run off losses over the last 6 weeks, which they overcame in this weeks victory. Lachlan Maranta left the field for a concussion test early on the match, which had taken away from the attack of the already struggling Broncos. Brisbane had failed once again to capitalise on many opportunities and made multiple errors. Ex Bronco, Dale Copley, scored 2 tries against his former club including the opening try and the last try was scored by the Broncos gun fullback Darius Boyd, which puts our exotic bet as a win. As Roosters walked away victorious, so did we in our Conclusion bet. 2/3

Bulldogs v Dragons – Bulldogs took home a win in front of their home crowd on the weekend although I am far from convinced they are worthy of a top 4 spot. With 2 tries in the first half and a drop goal at the siren to scoring nothing in the second half and making costly mistakes that had nearly lost them the game. Considering Bulldogs were fighting for a top 4 spot and Dragons finals hopes have been crushed already, Dragons shouldn’t have had any business being that close on game day. The officials failed to witness Josh Reynolds tripping over Joel Thompson as he was heading for the try line, which more than likely would have resulted in a penalty try and could have possibly been the difference in Bulldogs winning and losing this match. As Curtis Rona barely got a touch of the football and Brett Morris was far from his best form, this game resulted in a loss.

Cowboys vs Storm, was everything we could have hoped for and more. Thurstons absence definitely gave Storm the edge as we predicted, although the defence still managed to play their roles very well. Some errors from both sides near the try line had worked in our favour on a few occasions as we were hoping for a low score, though the scoreboard read 16-8 at half time. With the amount of pressure, errors in the midfield and top defence, the second half consisted of no points whatsoever which put us in a great position. Cowboys started off the second half hungry as they kept Storm in their half for numerous sets though an error from Winterstein finally gave Storm room to breathe. Tim Glasby, Marika Koroibete and Kevin Proctor make up the 3 tryscorers for Melbourne which sees our roughie as a win. As there were no scores in the second half our Conclusion bet salutes, as does our exotic.

Raiders v Rabbithos – Raiders were in top form as expected wreaking havoc on the struggling bunnies who have moved into 13th position on the ladder. Canberra have moved into 3rd position on the ladder after a 50 point victory over South Sydney at ANZ Stadium which is beneficial for them in their run home to the finals. Luke Keary was sent off with a hamstring injury in the first half which gave an already advantaged Raiders side an even bigger advantage to solidify their spot as finals contenders. Edrick Lee managed to score a try before having to leave the field with a calf injury though the Raiders had a substantial lead and enough support to cover the loss. Elliott Whitehead and Jordan Rapana were among the players that had multiple tries for the game but unfortunately Jarrod Croker had only one to his name though coming close on several occasions which leaves our roughie as a loss. However, due to Raiders being dominant throughout the whole match sees both our Conclusion and our exotic bets get up which should more than compensate for our losses on Bulldogs mediocrity on Friday night. A profitable weekend overall which puts us in a great position for round 22.

We have also just implemented a new style of betting that is going to change up our whole system! Its called “Lay” betting and it essentially makes you the bookie. This week alone our Lay Tipper had 11 wins and 3 losses!!! We are the only tipping service to offer this and its going to blow our other profits out of the water. We still managed to turn a profit even though we had our worst month to date.  There is not a lot to say about the month just gone, Nothing seemed to go our way.  Our big money makers like NRL, MLB and TENNIS still kept us in the green but did suffer a few losses.  Luckily our NRL nailed a few high paying tips and we even still managed a few perfect games hitting 3/3 tips per game.  The week just gone is the first week we introduced our new form of tipping called “lay” betting, This is a form or tipping where you essentially become the bookie.  Our expert from the UK holds an impressive 75% win rate with his greyhound lay bets which he proved to all of our members this week going 12 wins with 3 losses.  This form of betting is new to all of our members but is gearing up to be one of our most profitable services yet!  We finished the month with a total profit of $508, small change compared to last months profit of $6,719 but a profit none the less.  Click HERE to view last months review.
